U14 Girls; Avenue v Bunratty
U14 girls went down 5-4 tonight in a cracker in Ennis vs Avenue. The girls put in a huge performance but just came up shy after they ran out of steam midway through the 2nd half. With only 4 girls available on the age selection had to dig deep into the u13 and u12 panel to get numbers. All our players and especially those drafted in were outstanding and so brave in what turned about to be a cracking game.
Bunratty went 1 -0 down after 14 mins when Avenue sprang a long ball over the top and caught the back 4 high. Bunratty reacted well playing a little more trying to get back into the game with Caolinn Early and Lucy Browne both from the u12 team working tirelessly up front and they combined well after 28 mins for Lucy to get a deserved equaliser. Evie Harkins and Meia Caroll combined shortly after to push Caoilinn through to make it 2 and we came in at half time in great shape almost hitting a 3rd before the break.
It wasn’t long into the second half when Cara Power and Ailbhe Halpin helped put Meai Carroll through and she finished off a cracking goal to make it 3-1. The girls looked comfortable for the next 10 Mins with Kate Kearney , Lucy Lohan and Cara Earley mopping up at the back and Alice Browne , Sophie Connolly and Lara Magee all doing well in midfield so that it all looked good at the 50 min mark. The girls eventually began to tire and cracked under intense avenue pressure, unfortunately leaking 4 goals over the next 15
mins which really was a shame given how well they had played to that point. The girls never gave up and pulled one back with 5 to go and absolutely battered their goal line for the last few mins but it just wasn’t to be.
Absolutely delighted with the effort spirit and football played by all the girls tonight with so many younger girls stepping up and playing out of their skins.

U16 Girls; Bunratty v Shannon Town
Girls u16 had a tough battle v Shannon Town and unfortunately came up just short going down 1-0. A lot of younger talent brought in again this evening with Ailbhe and Caolinn from the u12, and Abbie, Emma, Lucy and Cara from the 13’s helping us out. Some really good football on show again and whilst frustrating for the girls to suffer another loss they are clearly improving every week.
