CSSL U13 Girls League

6.30pm Corofin Harps vs BunrattyCratloe FC

U13 girls win 3-1 away to corofin. Excellent team performance from the girls tonight . Referee commented to me afterwards that it was some of the best football he ever saw at this age group. The girls were really excellent this evening …

Muireann Earley got us off the mark with a cracking shot from the edge of the box after 5 mins followed shortly by an exceedingly calm finish by Cara Earley after a wonderful move from Meia Carroll and Ailish O'Grady.

Corofin pulled one back but the come back was short Lived after Faye Harrington was ice cold in front of goals to finish off an outstanding move from Emily McMahon and Cara Power … the defence were excellent right throughout with Lucy Lohan, Diane Maloney, Martha Cusack, Kate Kearney and Sophie Doherty all super impressive and committed throughout . Abbie o Gorman was called upon on a number of occasions and always stood up when needed with some very brave saves …

Tuesday 17th May

CSSL U12 Boys Orange League

6.30pm Tulla United s vs BunrattyCratloe FC

The 12s were very unlucky in what was a great game in Tulla this evening.

We conceded early in the first half but after that chances were at a premium for most of the match until a crazy last 10 minutes that saw Conor Brady equalise with a great goal after a super pass from Colin O Dea. Tulla then went up the other end and forced the ball over at the back post from a corner. The lads remained calm and with about 3 minutes to go we equalised again after a Conor Gleeson shot was spilled by the keeper and Conor Brady forced it over. Unfortunately we were undone from another Corner in the last minute when Tulla were quickest to react to a loose ball. Overall very happy with the performance. Playing all the best teams every week is really bringing on the lads. Diarmuid was excellent again at centre back and Cian Finn who only took up soccer this year is turning into a real find. Now need to go work on corners again and defending high crosses………..

Wednesday 18th May

Thursday 19th May

CSSL U11 Blue League

6.30pm BunrattyCratloe FC Blue vs Mountshannon Celtic

U11 Blue team had a comfortable win vs Mountshannon in the early game in Woulfe Park this evening. Lots of well worked goals and plenty of game time for all.

Michael Woods U11 Orange League

7.30pm BunrattyCratloe FC Black vs Ennis Town Blue

U11 Black team had a great battle against a very tall and physical Ennis Town team. Ennis took an early lead and looked like our lads were a bit shell shocked, but they dug in and made a real game of it. Our lads learned more from the game tonight than any win they have had and I was delighted with the determination and fight they showed.

Friday 20th May

CSSL U12 Girls League

6.30pm BunrattyCratloe FC vs Mountshannon Celtic

Credit to the girls for bouncing back after last week where they started well and worked hard, passing the ball around nicely. Some good pressure on the left wing involving Lucy Lohan and Kate Kearney resulted in Sophie o Doherty getting on to the ball and firing in a great shot, from distance, to the back of the net. Faye Harrington, in midfield, linking up well with Cara Earley, who hit the post with a long range shot, and Lara Magee scored a couple of goals also. Great defending from Ailbhe Halpin, Caragh Hayes, Lucy Browne and Lucy Lohan dealt with any of Mountshannon's threats. Second half we changed few a things around, Grace McNamara went into goals and Abbie went into defensive midfield, both did really well with some great saves from Grace and solid defending from Abbie. Some good pressure from the girls resulted in a corner where Caoilinn Earley, just back from injury, got on the end of the corner to hit the back of the net. Mountshannon were still pushing hard and had some good possession but our defence and midfield with Lily Purcell working hard on the right cancelled out any threats and a counter attack released Sophie who scored, again from distance, a cracking goal. A good run out for all and good opportunity to try some girls in different positions.

CSSL U14 Girls League Division 1

7.30pm BunrattyCratloe FC vs Connolly Celtic

U14 girls went down 4-0 to Connolly Celtic this evening . Good football all round from our girls and all 16 players got a decent run . Connolly are a step up from everybody else in the league but there is no doubt we gave a good account of ourselves and the hard work is showing in the improvement every week. Was especially proud of our new arrivals this season Lucy Chaplin , Anna McMahon and Ellen Flynn who really made a big impact this evening …

Finally congratulations to the girls who played for Clare in the U12 and U13 Munster Cup Finals on Saturday. 7 girls from BCFC were selected which highlights the huge talent we have at our club and are super proud of them. Both Clare teams suffered narrow defeats but all played magnificent and was a great achievement to reach the Munster Finals. Well done girls...keep up the great work!!
