Monday 25th April - CSSL U13 Girls League

6.30pm; Newmarket Celtic 1-2 BunrattyCratloe FC

A battling performance ensures our u13 girls came out on top in the local derby!

What a performance from the girls tonight to take a deserved win away to Newmarket Celtic where all the girls should be really proud of how they played. Special mention must go to Abbie O'Gorman who found herself in goal for the full game as Emma Jones was carrying an injury and had to sit this one out.

Sophie McNamara and Lily Ryan were very powerful in midfield either side of Meia Carroll who was excellent in the middle of the park. Newmarket Celtic opened the scoring after 15 mins with a goal very much against the run of play but thankfully Sophie Doherty equalised to put us level at half time . BCFC were very much on top for the second half and finally got a second goal courtesy of Ailish O'Grady after some great work on the wing from Cara Power and Sophie Doherty . Emily McMahon, Cara and Caoilinn Earley nearly combined to get us a 3rd but it wasn’t to be and we held out with magnificent defending from the whole team with Martha Cusack, Diane Maloney and Kate Kearney.

Wednesday 27th April was the turn of our U11 girls as they travelled to Lees Road in Ennis to take on Hermitage FC in a 6.30pm kick off.

The U11 girls travelled to Lee's Road this evening to meet Hermitage. A close first half saw Lucy Twomey open the score, followed by Kate O'Neill and Caoilinn Earley.

The girls were working well but with some bunching in mid, so the second half focused on holding shape, calling for passes, making the runs. Their hard work paid off with great work from the backs to mid to forwards and Caoilinn made her hat trick and Kate finished off the night with one more.

The star of the night was Ailbhe Halpin, with a flawless performance in the backs marking a very sharp Hermitage striker. Great movement from Lilly and Annie Purcell, Grace McNamara, Lucy Jones, and Rebecca Ross up and down the field against a well organised Hermitage team.

A real team effort, well done girls.
